Baseball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. Washington Rams

The Metro Tech Knights will take on the Washington Rams at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Metro Tech is leaving town to face Washington after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Metro Tech came up short against Carl Hayden Community on Monday, falling 17-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Washington had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on Central with a sharp 13-4 win on Tuesday.

Austin Ashford looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Cash Kenyon was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam Bunstein, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Metro Tech beat Washington 9-4 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metro Tech since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
