Volleyball Recap: Prairie's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Prairie dropped to 14-3 on Thursday, ending the team's nine-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Fleming Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Prairie's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kali Sutter, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Macie Jaeger, who had 15 digs, 14 kills, and one block. Jaeger is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

As for Fleming, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since November 14, 2024.

Fleming was led to victory by Brooke Schaefer and Hayley Chamberlain. Schaefer had 22 digs, while Chamberlain had 36 assists and six digs. Those 36 assists gave Chamberlain a new career-high.

Prairie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Peetz on the 17th. As for Fleming, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Briggsdale on the 17th.
