The Lawrence Bulldogs will face off against the Belfast Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lawrence has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Belfast will come in with four straight wins.
Lawrence blew Cony out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Cony got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since May 13, 2024.
Meanwhile, while Belfast put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Mount View. The Lions put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordyn MacKay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
In other batting news, Katience Parenteau was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Gracie Moore was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Belfast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Belfast pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lawrence, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
