Tonopah came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Sandy Valley Sidewinders 20-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-5 on Monday.
Alyssa Maurer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Maurer was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played.
In other batting news, Tonopah got a massive performance out of Liberty Deck, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hannah Baudoin, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Tonopah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Tonopah's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Sandy Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
