Baseball Recap: West Aurora's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While West Aurora's victory against Elgin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blackhawks had just enough and edged out the Maroons 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Blackhawks, who have now won three contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Henry Hinkle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Yusi, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

West Aurora pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Elgin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19-1 record this season.

West Aurora will have a chance to go back-to-back against Elgin: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
