Volleyball Game Preview: St. Joseph's Academy Angels vs. Mascoutah Indians

The St. Joseph's Academy Angels will take on the Mascoutah Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Joseph's Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: St. Dominic, who was ranked 11th at the time (St. Joseph's Academy was ranked 25th). The Angels had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 3-2 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Angels in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won three in a row.

St. Joseph's Academy wouldn't go down easily and took St. Dominic into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-23, 25-13, 19-25, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Mascoutah earned a 2-0 victory over Jersey on Tuesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mascoutah took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10.

St. Joseph's Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-9-1. As for Mascoutah, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
