AA Seminole recap Nov. 7, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rustburg, who took down 86th ranked Jefferson Forest, 60-35.

The Devils made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,885 from 4,636. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 60-35 victory over the Cavaliers last week.

Amherst County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Edwards threw for 110 and two touchdowns and Lonnie Rose had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Marquis Brown chipped in 108 yards. Darius Wilson helped Amherst County's passing attack out by catching four balls for 52 yards.

Donnie Morgan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Glass lost to Heritage. He completed eight passes for 62 yards and also ran for 75 yards. Morgan's favorite target this week was Micah Manual, who caught four passes for 37 yards.

Heritage's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jevontae Parrish has thrown for 1852 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Ishantii Rosser has 39 catches for 651 yards. Parrish also leads the league in rushing with 1149 yards.

The Hilltoppers' Morgan needs only 45 yards against Jefferson Forest next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 159 carries Morgan has accumulated 955 yard this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Glass takes on Don Rice's team. At the moment, Ben Martin's team is in seventh, while the Cavaliers are in sixth.
