Volleyball Recap: Burlington Beats Stoneham for Their Ninth Straight Win

Burlington had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They put the hurt on the Stoneham Spartans with a sharp 3-0 win. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

Burlington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lexie Carmody out in front who had 11 digs. Cassidy Hanlon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Burlington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 26 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Burlington's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Stoneham, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Burlington will host Concord-Carlisle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stoneham, they are taking a road trip to face off against Arlington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
