League recap: Liberty-Eylau climbs in state rankings with win

Liberty-Eylau moved up to 442 from 495 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 13. The Leopards were able to make the jump by beating Pleasant Grove 45-21.

Liberty-Eylau led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on the Hawks.

Paris's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Demonquez Allen threw for 24 yards and Quay Scott had 14 yards receiving. On the ground Donte Bills chipped in 61 yards. Andrew Dunn helped Paris' passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.

Paris' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keandre Robinson has thrown for 325 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Kenny Mason has 13 catches for 236 yards. Robinson also leads the league in rushing with 169 yards.

A big matchup in 3A Region II District 13 this week will be when Brian Brown's team takes on North Lamar. At the moment, the Leopards are in third, while the Panthers are in second.

Liberty-Eylau made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,298 from 4,899. The improvement came about via a 45-21 victory over Pleasant Grove last week.
