Baseball Recap: Juab Falls Short of Canyon View in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Juab couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 9-6 to the Canyon View Falcons on Friday. The Wasps' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Luke Marostica put in work no matter where he played. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Madix Stowell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Cowan, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Juab's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Canyon View, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 26-5.

While Juab had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
