Volleyball Recap: Palmer Triumphs

Palmer hadn't done well against Fullerton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Warriors. The Tigers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

While Palmer might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Fullerton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Marlea Donahey paced Palmer's offense, picking up nine kills. Donahey got some help from Kayden Tyan and her 18 assists. Abby Nielsen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Palmer picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 6-13. As for Fullerton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Palmer and Fullerton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Central Valley on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (234 vs. 52). Meanwhile, Fullerton (ranked 243rd) will meet Nebraska Christian (ranked 51st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
