Game recap: Crandall High School Football Team bests Wills Point

CRANDALL, Texas - Crandall (Texas) received a huge boost from its defense against Wills Point (Texas), as the unit scored 12 in defeating Wills Point (Texas), 48-24.

The Pirates were up 27-16 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Nate Banks in the second quarter.

Crandall expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored three times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.

The Pirates' standout player in the win was Banks. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

Chase Pemberton made a difference for the Tigers. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.



The loss comes after Wills Point defeated Ford 41-26 last week.

Crandall (3-4) will play a 3A Region II District 14 game against Kaufman next week, while Wills Point (3-5) will take on Kaufman also in a 3A Region II District 14 game.
