Basketball Game Preview: Holmes Huskies vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

The Holmes Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Holmes has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 22.

On Tuesday, Holmes took a blow against Warren, falling 67-40. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 992nd, while the Warriors are ranked 345th).

Meanwhile, Sotomayor strolled past Marshall with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 66-47.

Sotomayor's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9. As for Holmes, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Holmes didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sotomayor when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with an 80-76 win. Does Holmes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sotomayor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
