Baseball Recap: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Porter Ridge Pirates
Sun Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Porter Ridge Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-0 loss on Tuesday.
Tristan Duke was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jessen Copeland, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Sun Valley now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Porter Ridge, they pushed their record up to 7-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
