Preview: Kenwood Broncos vs. Phillips Wildcats
Kenwood is 4-0 against Phillips since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kenwood Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Phillips Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Kenwood is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Phillips in Illinois (Kenwood is ranked 74th, while Phillips is ranked 216th).
Kenwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Brooks, posting a 75-16 victory on the road.
Among those leading the charge was Christopher Riddle, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Edwon Duling was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, Phillips was beaten by Curie 75-44 on Thursday. Phillips has struggled against Curie recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Elijah Harris put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Michael White, Jr, who scored 7 points.
The losses dropped Kenwood to 4-2 and Brooks to 0-8.
Kenwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Phillips in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 71-68. Will Kenwood repeat their success, or does Phillips have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
