Softball Recap: Briggs Takes a Loss

Briggs had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 12-5 to make it four. They lost 17-3 to the Centennial Stars. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Centennial, their record now sits at 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Centennial's part, Ellie Glover was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Glover has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Ryan Hammond was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Aza Corbett, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

As of now, neither Briggs nor Centennial have any future games scheduled.
