Football Game Preview: R-S Central vs. East Rutherford

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for East Rutherford. On Friday they take on R-S Central at 7:30 PM. East Rutherford are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while R-S Central are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.

East Rutherford's and Polk County's contest last Friday was close at halftime, but East Rutherford turned on the heat in the second half. East Rutherford made easy work of Polk County and carried off a 54-21 victory. Senior Cameron Simmons and senior Demetrius Mauney were among the main playmakers for East Rutherford as the former passed for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter rushed for 138 yards and 1 touchdown. Mauney has been a consistent playmaker for East Rutherford as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, R-S Central took a serious blow against Mitchell two weeks ago, falling 0-45. R-S Central were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-31.

East Rutherford simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat R-S Central 47-0. Will East Rutherford repeat their success, or does R-S Central have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
