Football Recap: Union City Comes Up Short at Home Against Jackson Christian

Union City unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 24-14 to the Jackson Christian Eagles on Friday.

Jackson Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Smith, who threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Duece Lawrence, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will host Dyer County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson Christian, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Donelson Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
