Basketball Game Preview: McKinley Trojans vs. Wellsville Tigers

McKinley hasn't had much luck against Wellsville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The McKinley Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Wellsville Tigers at 1:00 p.m. McKinley will be strutting in after a victory while Wellsville will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, McKinley beat Non Varsity Opponent 32-20. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Wellsville was dealt a 60-27 loss at the hands of Shadyside. Wellsville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McKinley pushed their record up to 8-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points over those games. As for Wellsville, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

McKinley suffered a grim 51-26 defeat to Wellsville when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can McKinley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
