After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sprague, San Marcos was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Lincoln Cardinals 12-5. The Royals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brett Hollowell tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, San Marcos got a massive performance out of Quinn Melton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Melton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Hoover, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

San Marcos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
