Softball Game Preview: Boardman Spartans vs. Walsh Jesuit Warriors

Boardman is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Walsh Jesuit is on a 16-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Spartans will host the Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Boardman 2.2, Walsh Jesuit 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Boardman is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Riverside just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Addie Rudge was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Walsh Jesuit made easy work of Ursuline on Monday and carried off a 13-2 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Boardman's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Walsh Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
