Basketball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

Wakefield was the 55-51 winner over McLean when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Wakefield Warriors took a 53-36 bruising from the McLean Highlanders on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Jake Bell, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards for McLean. Those nine rebounds gave Bell a new career-high. Avery Higg was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven boards and seven blocks.

Wakefield has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for McLean, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Wakefield will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington-Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield is facing Washington-Liberty at the right time seeing as Washington-Liberty is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for McLean, they will take on Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
