Recap: Bennington Badgers vs. Roncalli Catholic Crimson Pride
In what's become a running theme this season, the Bennington Badgers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Roncalli Catholic 76-51. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Roncalli Catholic is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bennington was led to victory by Addison Reinoehl and Harper Bohaboj. Reinoehl scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Bohaboj scored 12 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reinoehl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Presley Baca, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Roncalli Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madeline McChesney, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Cunningham, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Bennington's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Roncalli Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Bennington will be playing at home against Lincoln Northwest at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bennington is facing Lincoln Northwest at the right time seeing as Lincoln Northwest is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Roncalli Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Neumann at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Roncalli Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
