Basketball Recap: Escondido Charter Comes Up Short

Escondido Charter lost against Army-Navy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Escondido Charter Tigers received a blow as they fell 70-52 to the Army-Navy Warriors. The Tigers were down 54-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Escondido Charter still got an impressive performance from Max Mowrey, who went 9-for-15 en route to 18 points and three steals. Mowrey has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joe Scates, who posted 15 points and five boards.

Escondido Charter's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Army-Navy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Escondido Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 74-59 win against Mar Vista on the 18th. As for Army-Navy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-55 victory against West Hills on the 18th.
