Baseball Recap: Eau Gallie Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eau Gallie can now relate to. They fell just short of the Belen Jesuit Wolverines by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-6 loss on Tuesday.

Eau Gallie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Jacobs, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Eau Gallie has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season. As for Belen Jesuit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-15.

Eau Gallie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belen Jesuit, they will square off against Merritt Island at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
