Softball Game Preview: St. Thomas More Cavaliers vs. St. Catherine's Angels

For the second straight game, St. Thomas More will face off against St. Catherine. The Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, St. Thomas More didn't have quite enough to beat St. Catherine's and fell 2-1. The game marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

For St. Catherine's part, Annika Munoz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. Munoz has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Catherine's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sybria Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Hunter a new career-high.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Catherine's, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.
