Russell won the last time they faced East Carter and things went their way on Friday too. The Red Devils claimed a resounding 35-6 victory over the Raiders. Considering the Red Devils have won six contests by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Frasure continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 84 yards and one score on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. 81 of Frasure's passing yards were hauled in by Cayden Pennington, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

The win was the fourth in a row for Russell, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for East Carter, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Coming up, Russell will venture away from home to challenge Breathitt County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. As for East Carter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Raceland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games.
