Volleyball Recap: Overton Takes a Loss

Overton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Hillsboro Burros. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Burros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Thursday.

Overton may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 21 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hillsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eden Merryman, who had 11 digs. Merryman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Overton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hillsboro, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Overton has already played their next game (against Glencliff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hillsboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Donelson Christian Academy on the 6th.
