Baseball Recap: Huntsville Beats Albertville for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Huntsville won against Albertville last Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Aggies with a sharp 8-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 last Tuesday.

Huntsville got a great performance from Andrew Barnsby as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Barnsby a new career-high.

At the plate, Huntsville let Owen Foreman and Reece Thomas run wild. Foreman scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Thomas scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Foreman a new career-high in RBI (three). Steven Cavaco was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The victory (which was Huntsville's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Albertville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntsville will host Westminster Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Albertville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Etowah at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Aggies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
