Softball Game Preview: Johnson Crusaders vs. Dayton Bulldogs

The Johnson Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Dayton Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Johnson blew Governor Livingston out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Governor Livingston got their revenge. The Crusaders fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Crusaders have suffered since May 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Summit. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Hilltoppers since May 5, 2015.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Johnson, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Johnson skirted past Dayton 6-4 in their previous meeting on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
