Softball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

Firebaugh hasn't had much luck against Bellflower recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Firebaugh will host Bellflower at 3:15 p.m.

Firebaugh is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They fell 10-6 to Fremont.

Meanwhile, Bellflower made easy work of Lynwood on Thursday and carried off a 20-13 victory. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Isabella Ordaz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harley Flores, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amanda Llanos, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Bellflower was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bellflower, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
