Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper). They put the hurt on the Martinsville Artesians with a sharp 68-42 win on Saturday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Artesians are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Martinsville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Layla Mallery, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Curless, who posted ten points.

Jasper's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8-1. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
