Softball Recap: JW North Takes Down Irvine in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only JW North walked away with it. They skirted past the Irvine Vaqueros 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Huskies sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Anela Kinnevey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lily Hiraoka, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

JW North's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Irvine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-17 record.

Looking ahead, JW North will challenge St. Bonaventure at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Seraphs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. Irvine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
