The Southwest Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Southwest didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Central, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Chargers are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandon Ashley led the charge by going 7 of 12 en route to 20 points. Ashley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Dupree, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Academy for Classical Education was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson.

Southwest pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Academy for Classical Education, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Southwest strolled past Academy for Classical Education in their previous meeting on January 14th by a score of 71-55. Will Southwest repeat their success, or does Academy for Classical Education have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
