Basketball Recap: Boardman Spartans vs. John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles
Boardman's last matchup with John F. Kennedy Catholic could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 77-54 to the Eagles. The Spartans were down 66-44 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
John F. Kennedy Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Didi Ryan led the charge by going 15-for-20 on her way to 31 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Those 31 points gave Ryan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Pompelia, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards.
