Flag Football Recap: North Grand Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Grand can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Whitney Young Dolphins and fell 39-6. While losing is never fun, the Eagle Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Dolphins are ranked 13th).

Georgia Lang continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Whitney Young, throwing for 236 yards while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in one score on the ground.

North Grand dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Whitney Young, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 17-4 record this season.

North Grand does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whitney Young, they will challenge Saint Ignatius College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Dolphins 8, the Wolfpack 13.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
