Baseball Recap: New Berlin West Takes a Loss

New Berlin West blew New Berlin Eisenhower out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday New Berlin Eisenhower got their revenge. The Vikings fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

New Berlin West got a good showing from Tyler Vetch, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The Vikings are 2-1 when Vetch allows one or fewer hits, but 7-8 otherwise.

New Berlin West is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Looking ahead, New Berlin West will welcome Waterford at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they will head out to take on Germantown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
