Football Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

Freeport lost against South Walton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs were dealt a 50-9 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Carter Nunes threw for 144 yards and one TD. Julius Miles was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards. On the ground, Dylan Louthain rushed for 26 yards.

William Justiss went supernova For South Walton., rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for two yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Justiss a new career-high. Gabe Parenton also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Freeport and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for South Walton, their record now sits at 5-2.

Looking ahead, Freeport is taking a road trip to square off against Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for South Walton, they will be playing at home against Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The War Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Seahawks surely won't give up without a fight.
