Volleyball Recap: Franklin Monroe Comes Up Short

Franklin Monroe extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-15. They came up short against the Houston Wildcats, falling 3-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Jets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Their offense was headlined by Jaylin Swiger and Alivia Addis, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Brooklyn Miller and her 17 assists. Finally, Swiger was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

As for Houston, their victory ended an eight-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-12. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 6th (when they won 3-0).

Houston found their leader in sophomore Jaycie Seipel, who had 14 digs and two aces.

Franklin Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cedarville on the 6th. As for Houston, they will venture away from home to take on Botkins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
