Kearney faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Discoverers with a sharp 4-1 win. Kearney might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Columbus with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Addie Snyder, Maicie Stubbs, Ellie Salinas, and Reese Holscher.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Kearney, bringing their record up to 16-2. As for Columbus, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.

Kearney didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Elkhorn South on the 12th. Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
