Volleyball Recap: Athens Drive Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Gwen Marquis and Annie Baublitz + How To Watch

Athens Drive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Fuquay - Varina Bengals, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Athens Drive ultimately came up short, they really made Fuquay - Varina work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-9, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Athens Drive had strong showings from Annie Baublitz, who had five digs and three aces, and Gwen Marquis, who had eight digs.

Athens Drive's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fuquay - Varina, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
