Basketball Recap: Dell City Falls Despite Big Games from Jerry Loya and Isaac Rangel

Dell City's game on Friday was all tied up 31-31 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Balmorhea Bears. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 45-38.

Despite the defeat, Dell City had strong showings from Isaac Rangel, who went 10-for-17 en route to 25 points in addition to six assists and five boards, and Jerry Loya, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Rangel's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Galvan, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Dell City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Balmorhea, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.

Dell City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-64 loss against Sanderson on the 18th. As for Balmorhea, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-37 win against Fort Davis on the 8th.
