Basketball Recap: Crossland Takes a Loss

Crossland lost against Oxon Hill back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crossland Cavaliers took a blow against the Oxon Hill Clippers, falling 87-17. The game marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Crossland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zaida Birruete posted seven points.

With the defeat, Crossland broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for Oxon Hill, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Crossland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-20 loss against Parkdale on the 24th. As for Oxon Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-40 win against Douglass on the 27th.
