Fredonia scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Elk Patriots. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Fredonia's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Elk, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Fredonia and Anderson County will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another on January 7, 2025. Fredonia is facing Anderson County at the right time seeing as Anderson County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Elk, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rose Hill on January 3, 2025. West Elk will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Rose Hill will have lost five straight heading into Friday's game.
