Softball Recap: Saline Takes Down South Lyon in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Saline had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the South Lyon Lions by a score of 5-2. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won ten matchups in a row.

Abby Curtis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Casey Griffin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Hastings, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Saline's victory bumped their record up to 26-3-1. As for South Lyon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 26-9 record.

As of now, neither Saline nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
