Basketball Game Preview: Wheaton Bulldogs vs. Pierce City Eagles

The Wheaton Bulldogs will head out to take on the Pierce City Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheaton has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 19.

Last Tuesday, Wheaton took a blow against McAuley Catholic, falling 59-18. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Warriors are ranked 206th).

Meanwhile, Pierce City beat Miller 39-31 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Pierce City has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Wheaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.

Wheaton was taken down by Pierce City 66-33 in their previous meeting on January 14th. Can Wheaton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
