Softball Recap: Kempsville Takes a Loss

Kempsville and First Colonial squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Kempsville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Chiefs were not able to get on the board.

Kempsville's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9. As for First Colonial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Kempsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for First Colonial, they will square off against Kellam at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
