Andrew Jackson Academy and Patrick Henry Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. Andrew Jackson Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Colleton Prep Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the War Hawks on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Landon Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Kaiden Kinard was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Hayden McClung was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Andrew Jackson Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colleton Prep Academy struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry Academy lost 12-1 to Hilton Head Prep on Friday. The Patriots have struggled against the Dolphins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Patrick Henry Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Corley, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Andrew Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Patrick Henry Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Andrew Jackson Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Patrick Henry Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Andrew Jackson Academy suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Patrick Henry Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
