Football Recap: Myers Park Falls Short of West Charlotte in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Myers Park couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 34-21 to the West Charlotte Lions on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Mustangs, who until this contest were averaging 11.75 points allowed.

Despite the loss, Myers Park had strong showings from Josh Falzarano Jr, who rushed for 114 yards and one TD, and Chaz Portis, who picked up 56 receiving yards and one score. Falzarano Jr's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards.

West Charlotte was led to victory by Sincere Gray and Jamouri Nichols. Gray rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, while Nichols rushed for 65 yards and a pair of TDs.

Myers Park's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for West Charlotte, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Myers Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Charlotte, they have already played their next game, a 24-0 loss against Hough on the 28th.
