Baseball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Falls Short of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mt. Pulaski couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Mt. Pulaski's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Mt. Pulaski will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Prairie Central at 1:00 p.m. on June 29. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
